Why I Ride ...
Hi Everyone! I'm Marc Gundersheim, a proud husband, father, son, brother and uncle from Boston, MA and this will be my 8th PMC! I will be riding PMC with my team Kinetic Karma. I will be riding 192 miles to battle cancer!
I was initially inspired by my daughter, Jillian Gundersheim. Jillian was a pediatric oncology nurse at Children's Hospital. She cared for these brave children and their families. She helped them get through some of the darkest days of their lives. It is Jillian's passion for these kids that motivated me to start this journey. I ride with the hope that all of these children will be cured. Jillian is now a Nurse Educator contiuing to help pediatric cancer.
I am also riding in honor of my mother-in-law, Beverly Siagel, who fought her battle with cancer twice, and in memory of my Dad, Julius Gundersheim, who passed away in 2021 from Alzheimer's after battling cancer for 20 years.. I also ride for my cousins Jessica Wilson and Allison Picott who bravely fought breast cancer. My cousin Michael Goldstein who fought prostate cancer. They will be on my mind throughout the 192 mile event. I also ride for so many friends who have been fighting a battle with cancer. I will also hold dearly in my thoughts all those we have lost to this dreaded disease.
I hope you were able to learn a bit more about why this ride and experience is so important to me. I appreciate you taking the time to visit my page. Please consider making a donation; no amount is too small. We will wipe out cancer one ride at a time!
Best,
Marc
