Why I Ride ...
I was initially diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer 4/26/17. I went through chemotherapy, radiation, double mastectomy and reconstruction and ovaries and fallopian tube removal all from 2017-2018. It was a long and grueling process, but Dana Farber was there for me every step of the way. I was religiously taking my anti-estrogen medication and was considered cancer free for 6 years. In those years I watched my children's first days of kindergarten, coached multiple sports teams, traveled everwhere we could, and enjoyed life.
The unthinkable happened 11/1/23 when I was diagnosed with stage 4, or metastatic breast cancer. I was devastated and in complete shock. Again, Dana Farber has been there for me, providing the most advanced medical care, social workers, support groups and more. Because of their research, I am confident that I will riding the PMC for many years to come.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. I am riding to support my fellow cancer survivors and thrivers, and to honor all those we have lost to this horrible disease.
Please consider donating, no amount too small. You can make a difference.
