My name is Mike Barlow and I am riding the Pan Mass Challenge for the 17th time. I started riding in 2007 on Team Make Way for Molly for my niece, Molly Callahan, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in September of 2006 when she was 10 years old. After two years of treatment, Molly was cancer free. To give back, Molly became a nurse and has been working on the same floor she received treatment on years ago at Children's Hospital caring for young children fighting cancer. In 2019, I missed the PMC because I was recuperating from Prostate Cancer surgery. I was so happy to receive my living proof T shirt as I am now cancer free. In 2020, I planned to ride the PMC again to celebrate being cancer free, yet in February we got the devasting news that Molly's leukemia had returned after 14 years. I cried when I heard the news, this poor girl , hasn't she been through enough. Molly received a bone marrow transplant at Children's Hospital in July of 2020. Because of her strength, loving support by family and friends, and the incredible care at Childrens, she is cancer free again. Molly continues to inspire us. On 8/3/24 and 8/4/24, I will be riding 162 miles dedicating my ride to Molly. I will also be riding for family and close friends whose lives have been hurt by cancer; my father, John Hayden, Al Schofield, Al Pacuilian, Carol & George, Uncle Jack, Aunt Pat, Maureen Nichols, Aunt Barbara, Vasky, Uncle Dick, Lindsey, my cousin Lisa, Carol M.,Phoebe Compton, Steve Paculian, Cathy Lawler, Susan Callahan, Tawna Callahan, Bud M., Eva B, Norma, Annie Mac, Mike Kehoe, Doug Rose, Dennis Archie, Brigitt and Lynn Boyd. This year we have family members fighting uterine and prostate cancer. I will be adding Ester and Scott's name to my helmet, along with Lynn, a dear friend who lost her battle this year. Please keep all those affected by this horrible disease in your prayers. Please help us in our fight to wipe out cancer.
