Why I Ride ...
It’s two days before PMC weekend and a lot has transpired. On Friday, July 12ththe Pan-Mass Challenge announced that they surpassed ONE BILLION DOLLARSraised since 1980 for Dana Farber Cancer Institute. It is a fact that the PMC raises more money for charity than any other single athletic event in the country.
This is my 23rd year of riding and unfortunately my training was impeded. I will need hip replacement surgery late this fall. The good news is that my hip does not hurt when riding, the better news is that I will be riding an e-bike and the best news is that I will be with six thousand other cyclists, among them are the committed doctors, nurses, and health care workers as well as 100’s of cancer survivors and four thousand volunteers who are committed to the same cause.
The PMC is the catalyst that allows Dana Farber to innovate and lead the field in accelerating cures and treatments for the global cancer community. One hundred percent of every donation goes directly to Dana Farber, which enables them to innovate and start new trials and treatments to cure cancer.
Please help eradicate cancer by making a donation of $500 or more or any amount you can give. Every donation brings us closer by the mile.
