Dear Friends and family,
In just 1 week, I will be participating in a “Reimagined” PMC Ride and as always, I am thrilled to be riding for the incredible Team LUNGSTRONG!! August was a busy month for our family, so I was not able to ride during the PMC weekend - but - l am excited about this alternative ride as my daughter Kate will be pedaling alongside me, providing much needed moral support and energy! Kate too has experienced the painful impact that cancer brings to dear friends and family in her world and she is looking forward to joining in the ride for a cure.
Being able to participate is a privilege and an honor. 14 years ago, I was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor in my right lung. It was Diane Legg who literally took me by the hand and connected me to the amazing team of doctors at Dana Farber. The love, support and medical care I received from the staff at the hospital and the entire LUNGSTRONG Team, carried me through that difficult time.
Riding without Diane being present this year means pedaling with a big, gaping hole in our hearts. She meant so much to so many. But in her cherished memory and in her honor, the riding goes on. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to funding cancer research for the Thoracic Oncology program at Dana Farber
