We are 3 of the 116 members of TEAM LUNGSTRONG 2020 PMC Re-imagined. In its 10 year existence, Lungstrong has raised over $3.5million! THAT is pretty amazing! 100% of the funds raised go to the Lowe Center of Thoracic Research at Dana Faber. We are proud to be members of this team.
A couple weeks ago, we completed our third ride together for the 2020 PMC. We’ve lost count of the total number of miles we’ve ridden, and that really doesn’t matter. We ride as friends with the one mission: to help find a cure for cancer. Fundraising needs have increased significantly due to Covid-19. Now more than ever, research is needed to develop treatment options for lung cancer in order to provide the best quality of life for cancer patients as well as continue diligent work and effort towards finding a cure.
The 2020 PMC has made major adjustments in response to the crisis our world is facing. This year, there is no specific route to ride, no number of miles to complete, no registration fee, and no requirement for fundraising. The fundraising is always the biggest obstacle for us. We are very good friends. When we all take part in the PMC, we are all pulling from the same group of people to raise many thousands of dollars. With the requirements dropped for 2020, the question was: Why wouldn’t we ride? There really was no reason. So, here we are. We finished the rides we promised each other we would do. We have plans to do at least one more with a few additional members of Team Lungstrong. We are thankful for the friendship and good health that allows us to pedal together.
We realize these are difficult economic times. However, every single donation will make a difference- regardless of the size. One dollar, five dollars, twenty dollars - no matter how big or how small, collectively the impact will be life changing for our treasured family members and friends who have been impacted by the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
We send our deepest gratitude for your support.
