Hello Extended Family, hope everyone is Healthy and Happy and looking forward to a great summer although Cancer is still affecting too many of our lives personally with family or friends. We MUST beat it into submission once and for all by supporting research at Dana-Farber Cancer institute in Boston. At a young 75+ now, this will be a very special year for me as my daughter Amy will ride her 1st PMC. I’d like to say she's a “chip off the ol’ block, but she’ll be making her own path and riding in memory of her cousin Susan Rebello Black who lost her fight with cancer in 2019, a wonderful Mother, Daughter and Wife, Susan was a beautiful person who touched a lot of hearts over her 49 years. Susan will be in all our thoughts as we ride. I will also ride in memory of my dearest long time supporter, Lorraine “Miss Kitty” Teague who lost her fight with cancer on her favorite day, Christmas, 12/25/22. Lorraine's dear sister Arleen who, joined Lorraine for many years cheering us along continued supporting us at the water stop in the Franklin and then with she daughters Christina and Cindy as we turned the final leg on Saturday into the Marine Maritime Academy to complete day one. I’m sure Miss Kitty was also cheering us along just from a higher vantage point! I continue my support of research at Dana-Farber by riding my 21th PMC, Pan Massachusetts Challenge, 192 mile from Sturbridge to Provincetown, MA, on August 3 & 4, 112 miles Saturday and 80 on Sunday. I've committed to raising $16,500 for 2024. This will bring my lifetime fundraising to over $131,000 thanks to all of you. I will join 6,500+ cyclying friends in the PMC ride, and continue to raise needed funds for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. With your help over the years, I hope to continue riding until a cure for Cancer is found. I hope I can count on your support The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, with a fundraising goal of $70 million this year, the PMC will have raised and donated over “$1 Billion” to Dana-Farber. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure for cancer. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal. As partners, I will do the Riding, will you do the $$$ supporting me?” To show my commitment to you, I will match all individual donations 100% up to $100, so your $25 becomes $50 or $100 becomes $200.
