Why I Ride ...
PMC 2024 I am volunteering to support the largest fundraiser for Dana Farber Cancer Research and will be cheering on Team Slalom!
...
My reason to support Pan-Mass Chalelnges is to honor my Aunt Lisette who is in remission of her second return of B-Mantle C Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. For those of you who may not know, my name is carried down from my aunt so I've always felt a special connection to her. As my grandfather fought in WW2, his life was saved by the French Underground who helped him safely return to the US. He was indebted to the French and gave the name to my aunt...which was passed to me as such an empowering story centered around courage and doing what is right to help others.
And with a personal update, my mother is in remission from her breast cancer diagnosis as found from a routine mamogram. She was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer, which affects only 14% of breast cancer patients. Laurie's been doing very well with her incredibly bright spirit & surgery/oncology team at Yale. I've never felt closer to my family and more fortunate to see the strength of the mother that I have. She is currently undergoing on-going hormone therapy and from last year's radiation we're keeping her styled with fashionable UPF tops during this sunny season ahead to keep cool and protect from the sunrays.
See you on the road!
