I once heard a cycle coach say, You don't have to ride - You get to ride! That has really stuck with me...it's my go to thought for the PMC 2025 Ride.
I am reaching out to share something very special to me and to ask for your support as I participate in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) this year. This cycling event not only raises crucial funds for cancer research and treatment through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, but it also serves as a meaningful way for me to honor the memories of my sister, Nancy Adams, and brother-in-law, John Chateauneuf, who battled cancer courageously. As I prepare for the ride, I reflect on my loved ones and so many others whose lives have been affected by this devastating disease. Every mile I pedal is a tribute to their strength and resilience. I get to ride in their memories, embracing the challenges of the route as a testament to the challenges they faced. I find it hard to write these requests, but this list reminds me that it is very much not about me. It's why I'm going to ask again this year. Nancy, John, Aunt Mary, Aunt Barb, Matt, Fred, Jim, Lisa, Chuck, and on and on this list continues to grow - hundreds of names on my list alone. And that is why I will keep on trying to raise these funds. The PMC is not only a personal journey for me; it is a collective effort that brings us together to fight against cancer. My goal is to raise $11,000 to contribute towards the mission of Dana-Farber, which has been at the forefront of cancer treatment and research. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by cancer. Because every dollar that I raise goes directly to research cures and treatments...every dollar has a chance to make a difference, to be the dollar that makes another breakthrough. If you feel called to support this cause, you can make a donation through my fundraising page at pmc.org, click donate and enter my PMCID: LC0289., or search for my name, Linda Chateauneuf. Alternatively, you can send a check made out to the Pan-Mass Challenge to my address 43 Snowy Owl Lane, Marshfield, MA 02050. Thank you for considering supporting my efforts.
Together, we can bring hope to those fighting cancer. Please consider even $5 if you can. This is for Nancy and John and Aunt Mary and SO many more, TOO many more. Thank you - thank you. #pmc2025 With much gratitude and appreciation, Linda A. Chateauneuf
