Greetings....
This August 2nd-3rd, I will (again) be riding my bike 192 miles as part of the 46th Pan-Mass Challenge to support the Jimmy Fund in the battle against cancer. The PMC is the most successful and efficient athletic fundraiser on the planet, having raised $75 Million in 2024 and $1.047B (yes that’s a B as in Billion!) since 1980. The PMC’s 100% pass through rate means every rider raised dollar goes directly to experimental cancer research and treatment at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
I rode my 1st PMC on whim back in 1996 with the simple goal of a century. I had no clue what I was doing but by the time I reached P-town that Sunday I was hooked. And except for a short Alaskan hiatus, the 1st weekend in August has been a fixture on the calendar ever since. In 1996, 1,812 riders raised $4.5 Million. This year 6500+ riders will pedal towards a $76 Million dollar goal. As I look towards my 27h PMC, my goal is to raise $27,000 for the Jimmy Fund.
This will be my 16th year riding as a member of TeamBrent. I will be joining a great many PMC friends and teammates on what will be the last 2-day ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown. No...this is not my last PMC; the PMC is simply moving the day 1 start to Holy Cross in Worcester beginning in 2026 (more on that next year!).
While I rode in ’96 for the challenge, I return every August for the mission. I, like everyone, have had too many friends and family lost too soon or who are currently in the fight against cancer. Undoubtedly, cancer has impacted your family or friends as well. Please consider contributing to help find a cure. You can be absolutely confident knowing that every single penny you donate donation will go directly to cancer treatment and research. Its easy to support the PMC – simply click DONATE on this screen.
All donations are greatly appreciated and fully tax deductible. Most importantly, every donation makes a difference. If you would like to dedicate your donation in honor or memory of someone dear, please send their name in the note section when donating. I will carry each name with me during the ride.
The PMC is so much more than a bike ride - It is a journey of hope and determination and a celebration of life and the human spirit while in pursuit of a cure. Thank you for your time and consideration. Whether you’ve supported me since 1996 or are receiving this for the 1st time, I hope you consider coming aboard as part of my 27th PMC. The cure is out there…maybe just over that next hill.

Miss you Bud...
