My riding shirt…and classic dad

Dear PMC Family,

On August 3 – 4, I will ride again from Wellesley to Provincetown to raise as much money as possible for Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  This year the PMC will break the ONE BILLION dollar fundraising mark since its inception in 1980. The PMC donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to fund lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care.

Unbelieveable to me – MY FIRST RIDE WAS IN 2004 just a year after my father’s death from cancer.  Throughout these years I have ridden in memory and in honor of so many family members and friends.  The reality is that everyone I know is impacted by cancer….we all are.  This year I ride with that reality.  Over these 20 years much has changed in cancer treatments and research.   DFCI has been at the center of much of this progress. 

So I continue to ride because I can and it makes me feel like I am making a difference.  Every rider has their own story and as I ride it’s those conversations with other that make the PMC truly special.   We become a healing community.
