Those that know me, know I am not graceful nor athletic! Me riding 50 miles is a challenge that I am happily taking on!
When my husband decided to ride the original PMC route last year as a "First Time Rider" I happily supported him with his fundraising, training rides, and cheering him on with Max along the 2 day route! And many times I thought "he's crazy"!
But, while at the PMC all weekend, I came across so many people who all had a different story to tell. Whether they were cancer survivors, they were living proof riders, they had a family member riding, etc. They all were there for the same reason and that was to raise money for Dana Farber and The Jimmy Fund! People said "thank you" as riders rode by, they cheered and had tears in their eyes. I was so moved by the whole experience that I wanted to be a part of it and make a difference. I wanted to ride this year and make a difference, so here I AM!!
The Pan-Mass Challenge is a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country - to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer.
Since its founding in 1980, PMC riders like me have raised more than $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's top cancer care hospitals. My PMC is making a difference in the lives of patients at Dana-Farber and around the world. The funds I raise support the innovative work of doctors, nurses, and scientists in their search for cures for cancers and related diseases.
100 percent of every dollar I raise goes directly to Dana-Farber, meaning that your donation has a real impact! Please donate to my PMC fundraising and help me reach my fundraising goal.
