Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters,
Thanks for visiting my PMC fundraising page. On August 4th and 5th, I will be riding 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown in memory of my husband Scott and his mother Sis Salmanowich.
As many of you know, Scott was a 59 year old Boston Firefighter who passed away in June 2015 from an extremely rare cancer, Gastrointestinal Neuroectodermal Tumors (GNET), which took his life in five short weeks. Our children, Jordan and Brian, share in my gratefulness to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the tremendous care many doctors, nurses and staff administered during Scott's illness.
Sis was the cornerstone of the family who embodied a strong work ethic and dry sense of humor that she instilled in her children and grandchildren. Sis passed away from pancreatic cancer 26 years ago.
We are heartbroken that cancer has taken them from us far too soon and miss them dearly. It's a much different world without their wonderful love, guidance and hilarious outlook on life.
Fundraising Effort for Pediatric Cancer: It is an honor to be riding with the devoted cyclists of Team Path to the Cure, which is comprised of dedicated individuals from various areas of the Boston health and well-being sectors who are passionate about making a difference for Pediatric Oncology. While each team member has their personal reasons for participating in the PMC, Team Path to the Cure is committed to helping children like our Pedal Partners, Emily and CJ, with the hope that someday another little boy or girl won't have to go through what these children and their families have endured throughout their illness.
We need your help. Please donate today via the link in the sidebar. 100% of the money we raise will go directly to Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help patients like Emily and CJ.
Thank you for your support. Your thoughtfulness is helping many children and families during their difficult time in treating childhood cancer. I promise to work hard in preparation for the ride so I may succeed in honoring your generorsity. I will ride proudly to the finish with all of you in my heart throughout my journey.
