This is my 14th year asking for your support of Dana-Farber and my 12th year riding in the PMC. Last year, as always, my supporters were incredibly generous, and I’m immensely grateful and humbled. With your support, the PMC crossed the one billion dollar mark in 2024 for funds raised since its inception in 1980.
The PMC is a long-distance bicycle ride across Massachusetts and a fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. I will be riding the original and longest route of 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown over two days the first weekend in August. This will also be the last year that the PMC will start in Sturbridge!
I ride and fundraise to support, in some small way, the advances being made at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
I’m riding for Sutu, aunt Jan, aunt Sherry, Bjarne, and all the others that cancer has taken. I’m also riding for my wife Beth, Drew, Peggy, and the others that have beat cancer with the advances that DFCI has been part of.
We ride for all the people that have fought or are fighting cancer. Some have won their battles, but far too many have not. This is why we ride.
I will be riding on Team FLAMES this year.
For any PTC colleague making a donation, please consider requesting a corporate match: https://ptc.benevity.org/request-a-match. Make sure to indicate in the Comments to Cause/Charity field that the Donation is for John Rousseau, JR0328.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single sporting event in the country: Over $1 billion since 1980 and $75 million last year alone. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to DFCI. Dana-Farber is a four-star Charity Navigator charity with an almost perfect financial score.
If you are able, please make a donation today to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help them continue their life saving work researching cancer treatments.
Thank you.
