Why I Ride ...
Dear Friends and Family,
Well it's 2024 and I am signed up to ride my 14th PMC! My trusty son James will be riding with me this year and hopefully will wait up here and there for his mom! We continue to ride in Charlotte's memory and to support research at the pediatric brain tumor clinic through the TLC Cures ATRT, Charlotte Fund for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research. 100 percent of your donation will go towards research to this fund which is managed by some of the TOP researchers in the world for pediatric brain cancer!!!
Charlotte should have turned 20 this year. That seems so hard to believe as I see how grown up Will is these days and it's hard to imagine our Munchkin as a young adult. While cancer does not control my day to day life anymore, I am still in touch with many families who continue to fight for their kids to have a chance at life and I know that our work is not done! Thanks to all of my amazing supporters and other Team Lick Cancer riders, we have raised over 5 million dollars for this cause!!!
Kids should not have cancer and unfortunately there is not enough funding in this area. It's hard to imagine but if you have spent time at the Jimmy Fund Clinic or Children's Hospital and have seen what these kids endure you know how important this research is.
Charlotte was an amazing child that touched so many lives. We think about her every day and wonder what could have been. Charlotte had incredible courage, strength and love that was apparent to everyone who knew her. In honor of Charlotte I try to emmulate her strength and love everyday in all that I do.
