Why I Ride ...
This last year and a half has been so hard. So much of our lives have been disrupted, or put on hold. Cancer care has been disrupted too, but cancer hasn't been put on hold. For a time last year pediatric cancer diagnoses were down 50%, the disease didn't go away, diagnosis and treatment were delayed. This means sicker kids with worse prognoses. That's why, now more than ever it is important to invest in research and treatment. I'm riding in the PMC because 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am particularly proud to join Team Path to a Cure, as we are raising money exclusively for the Dana-Farber's pediatric blood disorders program, helping kids to live happy and healthy lives. Please support me and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in finding a cure for cancer
Cancer affects so many. My grandmother died this year after suffering from myelodisplasia (a form of cancer). That makes three of my grandparents who have died after suffering from cancer. A dear friend and new Mom, is facing breast cancer. And there are so many more. I ride with them in my thoughts and the hope that through research we can find a cure. I am honored to work in my professional life as an anesthesiologist guiding patients safely through the operations they need to treat and cure their cancers. I am hopeful about the improvements in cancer care that I've seen over the decade I've been practicing medicine. I am extremely proud of my wife Alanna Church, a Pediatric Pathologist at Boston Children's Hospital, who works tirelessly to better understand the genetics of pediatric cancer and offer personalized treatment to pediatric cancer patients.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
Thank you,
Jeremi
