Dear Friends and Family,
Although I had planned to sit out the next PMC, feeling that at 73 it might be time to hang up my cleats for such long-distance rides, two things have made me reconsider.
First, the sudden and unexpected passing of my sister has given this ride even greater significance. Second, for the first time, my son Sam will be riding along side me and with Team 3G something I've always hoped to experience. This is an opportunity I simply couldn't let pass.
We will be riding from Wellesley to Bourne on the first day and from Eastham to Provincetown on the second.
Your generosity in supporting me each year has meant so much, and I hope you are able to do so again this year.
Again, I am proud to ride with Team 3 and their many accomplishments and contributions to Dana Farber. Along with the funds the team designates for lung cancer research, we plan to support a critical study which targets brain cancer, specifically a glioblastoma study.
Incredibly, 100% of all rider fundraising goes to Dana Farber. The PMC has raised $831 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since it's launch in 1980, including an astounding $64 Million during 2021's Covid modified event!. Today, the PMC is the single largest contributor to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund and is responsible for 64 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.
I seek your support in partnering with me to help defeat cancer. Your support means a lot to me and anything that you can give is most appreciated.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Jack
