2025 has not been good. My family lost a kind and gentle man. This year I will be directing the funds that I raise to Dr. Can Ilyas of the New England Cancer Specialists (affiliated members of the Dana-Farber). Dr. Can Ilyas and the entire office in West Kennebunk were extremely helpful throughout my step-father's couragous but brief battle with cancer.
Since 2009 I’ve been fundraising for the Jimmy Fund by riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge.
For the 4th year I will be working as a volunteer on Day 2 of PMC weekend at the first water stop. I eagerly look forward to supporting the thousands of cyclists at the first water stop of the day.
And as ALWAYS, because every penny matters, 100% of your donation goes to the DFCI. I hope you will once again sponsor my ride as we get “closer by the mile” to finding a cure for this devastating disease.
Where it all began...
In 2004 I lost a grandfather to cancer. Grandpa Ernie. In 2013 my grandmother, Mary Margolius passed away from kidney cancer -many, many years later after beating breast cancer. Before she passed she said to me, You never know, its always in the back of your mind. Thank you for what you are doing.
In the years since I've rode in honor or memory of family, friends, and clients who, whether its their own story or a family member, their lives had been changed forever because of this horrific disease that does not discriminate by age, race, or sex. I am riding for all these people and for anyone else who has or will ever hear the dreaded words, You have cancer, leave their doctor's lips.
And the reason I am asking for your support. Please consider sponsoring me in this year's PMC by donating $250, $150, $100 or whatever amount you can comfortably afford.
