I am riding in my 14th PMC because it continues to offer me a chance to be part of something much larger than myself, to give back. The riders, sponsors, volunteers, and PMC Staffers are all working toward a common goal, finding a cure for cancer.

I am riding because others can’t.

I am riding because it impacted my family by taking my father, my sister, my brother-in-law, (Kim’s Dad) several cousins, and friends. And especially now for my niece, Kim, 58 years of age, who continues to receive treatment and care for glioblastoma at the Dana Farber. I dedicated my ride to Kim last year and will continue to do so this year.

I am riding because, as a family member who is involved with cancer research once told me, it takes lots and lots of money to fight cancer’s many forms. I want to play my part in raising that needed money. This year I could use some extra help though, as one of my sponsors whose company generously triple matched his donation has retired putting a sizeable dent in this year’s fund-raising efforts.

I am riding because progress is being made; certain cancers that were once a death sentence now have effective treatments. The Pan-Mass Challenge event has helped fund more than half of all the cancer drugs approved by the FDA over the past 5 years. If it were not for your generous support this would not happen. However, the work continues...

I am riding because CANCER SUCKS!!
