Dear friends,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the summer months in spite of the restrictions and regulations that have become such a part of our lives this year. Even though 2020 has been a year I still feel fortunate that my family and friends have been happy and healthy. While finding a coronavirus vaccine is certainly a priority, people we all know and love are still battling cancer. This is why I have once again signed up to participate in the Pan Mass Challenge. I am writing to you today in hopes of collecting as many donations as I can for the Dana Farber Cancer Center.
For the past 5 years I have ridden the PMC in honor of my father and his battle with cancer. The two day event, spanning 192 miles, includes 3,500 riders and is supported by thousands of volunteers. This year, in an effort to keep all participants safe, the PMC will not take place in its traditional format. The organization has asked riders to plan and carry out our own rides and to do what we can to rally support. For me, this means that the first weekend in August, together with a small group of fellow riders, I will ride an abbreviated version of the PMC. I am planning on riding roughly 75 miles each day. A great deal of planning and prep has been taking place to do this safely.
I am writing to you in hopes that you will support my PMC this year in its reimagened form. A link to my website can be found below.
If you loved the calendar raffle, don't worry, it will be back again and who knows what other ideas I'll think up between now and then?
Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past 5 years. Thank you in advance for any and all donations made to the PMC!
With appreciation,
Jess
