Riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge year after year is one small way I can do my part to find a cure for cancer, once and for all, and also support a cause that is near and dear to my heart. This August, I will ride in my tenth consecutive PMC. 100% of all proceeds raised by riders like me supports the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's efforts to find a cure and treat cancer.
This year, I will ride to honor the memories of so many, a list that has, unfortunately, grown since 2016, when I started this journey: my friend, Nicole Cingiser; grandmother, Min Deutchman; law partner, Paul Gulielmetti; colleague, Cynthia Rubin; college friend, Adam Grudberg; high school friend, Tricia Grimes; camp friend, Ira Levine; the beloved principal (and now namesake) of the school where my daughters attended elementary school, Zipporiah Mills; uncles Philip Ranheim and Hywel Madoc-Jones; and dear cousin, Ellen Gelbard. In 2024, we lost Mike Cingiser, Nicole Cingiser’s dad, both of whom I knew since childhood. We also lost my dear friend, Brad DeMel, to pancreatic cancer. One of my goals this year -- in Brad's honor -- will be to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer -- symptoms, treatment, and what is being done to find a cure.
And I will ride to honor the bravery of Easton Troitsky, the 11-year-old son of my good friend, Sue Kuester.
Finally, I am riding to honor the battle that too many of my friends and family members have overcome — or are continuing to fight — against cancer.
Once again, I look forward to riding alongside my fabulous Brooklyn Love teammates (http://profile.pmc.org/TB0223) this year, each of whom, individually, inspires me in their own way and makes it so that I look forward to training and riding every year.
No donation is too small. Thank you so much for your consideration.
