Dear Friends and Family,
After taking a year off for personal reasons, I’m back to participate in my 7th Pan Mass Challenge. I’ll be riding in the 2-Day bike event to help raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This year’s ride will be extra special to me as I’ll be riding in memory of my mom.
Caryl Jean Alers courageously battled Stage IV Lung Cancer for the past 3 years. She unfortunately lost her battle on January 7th of this year. I miss her dearly each day and as much as it breaks my heart to have lost her, I realize without the care from her Oncologist, Dr. Kwiatkowski (Dr. K) and the team at Dana Farber, we would not have been able to spend the past few years making lasting memories with her.
Each year when I sit down to update my PMC profile; I realize that we are all touched by cancer in some way. Whether it be a family member or friend, we all have a story to tell. This year my story is all about my mother and it is with her in mind that I ask for your help.
The support I’ve received over the past 6 years has been amazing and I’m humbled by all those who have contributed to my ride. If you are able and can help me with this fight, please consider donating to this cause. All contributions, whether big or small, make a difference and they provide those battling cancer extra time with their families – Just as I was able to do with my mother these past few years.
I ride to give other families hope and a chance of extended time with their loved ones.
I ride to continue to do my small part in trying to make a difference.
I ride to honor and remember my Mom.
PEACE!!
