Why I Ride:
Last year, I rode my first PMC ride from Sturbridge, to Provincetown, MA. IT WAS THE SINGLE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE SO FAR! This past winter I road the Winter PMC at Fenway Park and am excited to announce that I am riding the two day PMC '25 again this summer.
In 2013, my father, a high school teacher from Charlton, MA, rode the PMC. He dedicated the 2-day, 192 mile ride to his student who was fighting cancer. Although Seshu eventually lost his battle, that summer, my friends and I won an appreciation for giving back. While witnessing the courage of the PMC participants and their families, our cancer-fighting philanthropy group, The Daughters of Anarchy, was born. Seshu, my dad, and the thousands of PMC riders that year could never have imagined how much they impacted us. Since 2013, The Daughters of Anarchy group has contributed thousands of dollars to cancer fundraisers, including the PMC. For the past ten years, we have donated to the PMC and created themed Christmas trees for The Festival of Giving Trees in Southbridge, MA. Our Christmas trees are always fan favorites, and each holiday season, our contribution raises money to help the Silent Spring Institute, the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, and The Cancer Center at Harrington Hospital.
The PMC community has shown us how to use athleticism to help others. For every mile my little sister Clara and I ride, we think of the millions of families who have fought and are currently fighting cancer. Please consider supporting our PMC rides. All of the proceeds of the rider-raised revenue directly support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Thank you so much, and together we are #CloserByTheMile.
