Last year, the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) reached a historic milestone: Over $1 billion raised for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 1980. While that’s worth celebrating, we all know the fight against cancer is far from over.

This August will be my third-year riding in the PMC - a challenging but inspiring 2-day, 200-mile cycling event from Sturbridge to Provincetown. The PMC is the largest athletic fundraising event in the world, and this year’s goal is $76 million. With recent government cuts to cancer research, funding from events like the PMC is more critical than ever.

Here’s what makes the PMC so powerful:

- 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
- The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter
- The PMC contributes 66 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue

I’ve had the privilege of riding with Team Courage–Coneheads, which has raised over $3 million since 2008. With your support, I have personally raised $13,143 in my first two years as a rider. I took a break last year, but I'm thrilled to be back in the saddle with my team for this year's ride.

While our team has already surpassed its fundraising goal, I still have a long way to go myself. My personal goal is $7,000, and I’ve raised $1,000 so far - so every dollar truly counts.
