Why I Ride ...
10 years and $100,000 raised to fight cancer! This is the goal for PMC Team Rockstar Cycling. For the past nine years I have supported the team and volunteered for PMC. This year I will be joining the team as a rider. I am a little scared, but mostly excited. This will be the longest ride I have ever done. It will be a challenge for me. But this is nothing compared to the challenges faced by those with cancer. It is a terrible disease that has touched far too many. I know that the money we raise through PMC makes a difference. We are getting closer to a cure by the mile.
Team Rockstar Cycling started in 2015 when my brother-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that would take his life in 7 short years at age 53. During this time, my father was diagnosed with kidney cancer and died at just 70 years old. These losses were massive for me and my family only made worse by the realization that we are far from alone.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, more than $1 billion since 1980 and $75 million in 2024 alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure. And because every penny matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I've made a personal commitment to ride PMC 2025 and raise $6,000.00 and to help Team Rockstar Cycling reach a 10-year goal of $100,000 raised. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.
