Dear Friends, Previous Supporters and Future Supporters,
Once again my note hasn't changed much except for the unfortunate fact that the list of people impacted by cancer continues to grow. On August 4, 2024 I will be riding in my 7th PMC.
Once again I will be riding 110 miles from Strubridge, MA to Bourne, MA on Cape Cod in one day. While I have my work cut out for me it's nothing compared to the fight and determination necessary for anyone fighting cancer.
I am beyond grateful for all the support you have provided over the past 6 years - an amazing total of over $187,000. Thank you for being a part of it. Raising money for any cause is difficult but I hope that you will do what you can and please understand that any amount truly makes a difference. The amazing work getting done and the support provided to cancer patients every single day at Dana Farber will only happen if we do our part.
I have 4 new sets of initials to add to my jersey this year. Last year a very close friend of mine lost his brother after a long battle. My Mom is a breast cancer survivor. My mother in law is a stage 4 melanoma survivor. My uncle lost his wife way too early to lung cancer. My youngest son's best friend lost his Dad to cancer after a long and brave fight. A very close friend fought a hard battle and won! A close collegue of mine who was also a close friend passed away at age 38 of lymphoma. A good friend's wife continues to successfully battle multiple myeloma. One of my fishing guide buddies is battling colon cancer. A good friend lost his brother after being in remission for 2 years. And another very close friend lost his wife to pancreatic cancer at age 60. Daniel, who was our Pedal Partner on Team Year Up when he was younger continues to valiently fight pediatric brain cancer. It has touched us all.
These incredibly strong people, their caregivers and families and so many others inspire me to never give up. Each PMC ride is meaningful and I can't wait to ride in your/their honor once again.
I am a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading the charge to beat cancer. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other event in the county, $950 million since 1980 and $71 million in 2023 alone.
100% of your donation goes to directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
Thank you so much for your consideration of supporting me, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Dmitri Itzkovitz Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund (focuses on kids' brain tumor research.)
