Big thanks to so many of you who regularly contribute to my 5 years of riding the PanMass Challenge. Regardless of the amount, your support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s hard work to beat old and new variants of cancer goes a long way.
Covid-19 denied the 2020 ride. For 2021, PMC Team Kristen Strong regrouped and rolled our own 2 day route traversing beautiful farm lands and hills around South Deerfield, Massachusetts. Hosted by Kristen’s sister and family, it was terrific for our team, who travel from as far away as Virginia, to be together once again.
Each year, I pedal with the hope that someone I know with cancer gets the right care that saves their life. My 2021 ride is dedicated to a kid I grew up with who is fighting and winning his battle with service-related cancer contracted while crisscrossing the globe as a super-bad-ass career Navy SEAL Sniper, and later a highly recognized trainer of 100’s of SEAL Snipers. Super-bad-ass barely covers what these guys do!
Naturally, I pedal with the same hope that each of the people you know and all the people we do not know kick cancer’s ass!!
My mom died of cancer at the age of 60. I turned 60 this year. Frightening!
Cancer just Sucks - but can be beaten!! Thankfully we all know many thriving survivors!!
