Why I Ride ...
Riding the Pan Mass Challenge has always been a bucket list item for me. I have supported Team Jack since they started but could never find the time to ride and raise funds.
I have known more people than I can count who have been impacted by cancer including my father. In 2024 my best friend was diagnosed with non-hoggins Lymphoma. Between that diagnose and finally having the time to train, I made a decision that 2025 would be my year to ride. I could not have imagined at the time how personal it would be to me.
In early January 2025 I registered and joined Team Jack. Little did I know that less than 2 weeks later, my wife Lisa was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. Our entire world was thrown upside down. Luckily for us it was caught early and with the help of some fantastic doctors she had a successful operation and rang the bell for completing her radiation treatments at the end of May. While she will take a daily pill for the next five years, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
In August 2nd and 3rd I will be riding 180 miles from Sturbridge MA to Province Town MA.
I ride because without the scientists, physicians and all the support people who focus on finding cures for cancer so many of us would not be alive today including Lisa - my sole mate, best friend, wife, mother, sister and all-around super star.
Please support me in raising funds for this year’s Pan Mass Challenge as we work to find a cure. One hundred percent of every dollar I raise goes directly to Dana-Farber; your donation has a real impact.
