I'm pondering the question Why I ride..?

As I put in the miles training for my third PMC ride I keep asking my self this question. The easy answers - I'm a doctor, I treat cancer nearly daily, I like combining bike riding with a benefit to others - are all true to some degree. But there has to be more.

Riding last year on the full Sturbridge to Provincetown route was truly awe inspiring. And humbling. I rode past way too many signs, pictures, jerseys and banners memorializing people who had fought cancer. And won. Or lost. Or were still fighting.

I hope that, by doing this event there will be less:

Pictures

Banners

Jerseys
