Dear friends and family,
I am writing to you today to ask for your support in our upcoming bike ride to raise funds for melanoma research. On August 30, 2021, my sister was diagnosed with stage 3b metastatic melanoma. Since then, she has been fighting this disease with incredible strength and courage.
Her journey has inspired me to take action and join the fight against melanoma.
This August, I'll be riding alongside her on the PMC century ride. Our 100-mile day day both starts and finishes in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Together, the two of us are participating in the Pan Mass Challenge to raise money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, two organizations that are dedicated to finding a cure for melanoma and other forms of cancer. Every dollar we raise goes directly to support their tireless efforts to improve cancer treatments and ultimately find a cure.
By supporting our ride, you will be helping to make a real difference in the lives of those who are affected by this disease. As you may know, melanoma is an aggressive form of skin cancer that can quickly spread to other parts of the body if not caught early. In my sister's case, she had a mole removed from her leg in 2018 that turned out to be stage 1c/2a melanoma. In August of 2021, she found a node in her right groin and knew that the cancer was back.
Through treatment at Dana Farber, she has been able to take an innovative targeted therapy that only became available in 2018, thanks to the funding for melanoma research through efforts such as the Pan Mass Challenge. I invite you to visit my sister's fundraising profile to learn more about her journey and why this cause is so important to us.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can make a difference.
With love,
Ephraim
