On July 2, 2024 I lost my mom, Vivian Lombardi after several months of illness. She was a 14 year volunteer at the Dighton-Rehoboth lunch stop. She was an avid supporter of the PMC and loved "her riders"! Thank you mom.
When I started riding in the Pan Mass Challenge 15 years ago, I thought that I would make the ride once in memory of my sister Robin. Her fighting spirit as she battled melanoma inspired me to take on this challenge to ride 200 miles and raise money for cancer research at Dana Farber. It's 2024 and I am ready to ride again!
Though Robin lost her battle with cancer, I have followed my passion which led me to my purpose to make a commitment to fight cancer by supporting Dana-Farber. Each year I meet more people who have been successfully treated at Dana-Farber. Unfortunately, each year there are more reasons to continue my quest to find a cure for those being diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, I ride. I ride because it is a way I can fight cancer!
My bike and I will be crushing cancer again this year and raising support for one of the premier cancer research centers in the world.
Over the last 15 years my donors have raised over $85,000! In 2023 PMCers raised an incredible $72 Million dollars to support Dana-Farber. This record-breaking year brings the PMC's total raised since 1980 to an outstanding $972 million in support of lifesaving cancer research and patient care. On August 3 and 4 10,000 cyclists and volunteers will participate in the 45th Pan-Mass Challenge through 32 towns in Massachusetts, to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Our goal is to reach one billion in lifetime support. Please support me by donating because 100% of every rider raised dollar goes directly to Dana Farber to find a cure for someone you know that is fighting cancer!
