For the 17th year in a row, I'm joining thousands of riders in disturbingly tight clothing to raise funds for cancer research and treatment. I’ll be pedaling 110 miles from Sturbridge to Bourne on Saturday, August 3, and then around 85 miles to Provincetown on Sunday the 4th. As usual, several of us on Team Kermit will be warming up with a 75-mile ride from Newton to the starting line in Sturbridge on August 2.
100% of every dollar raised by the PMC is donated to the Jimmy Fund to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dana-Farber provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer. It advances the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer; provides training for new generations of physicians and scientists; designs programs that promote public health; and makes innovative therapies and scientific discoveries available to patients around the world.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other athletic event in the country, providing over half of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Last year, thousands of contributors helped the PMC raise $72 million, bringing the total amount donated to Dana-Farber to $962 million over the PMC’s 44-year history.
Please join us in reaching this year’s goal and surpassing the $1 billion lifetime mark. As always, many thanks.
