So I began riding the Pan Mass Challenge in 2007, as a commitment to a dear friend, Theresa Gleason, and in memory of others including my mother, grandmother, my friends Julia, Susan, and so many others who have lost the fight against cancer (including my colleauge and friend Deborah Norton who lost her fight earlier this year). Today I ride for them and for those who continue to win or battle against this disease. I spent over eight proud years as the Chief People and Culture Officer at DFCI, and in 2021 additionally grateful to DFCI for amazing care and support related to my early detected Breast Cancer -- I was blessed to have found it so early and so treatable -- I know many are not so lucky.
I am so blessed to have my family, an amazing network of friends and colleagues, my health and so much more - this ride reminds me of these immense gifts in life in such a deep way.
This year join me again in being part of a humanity based on kindness and being one who looks to find the AND in such a broken world, through this PMC ride - where this is love, community and shared experience of something bigger than ourselves. I will ride and ponder life, the amazing people and stories riding next to me, and my prayers will be for haelth and peace for patients and their families and our world.
I hope you join me once again in my efforts to support the fight against cancer this year as I ride the Pan Mass Challenge for my 17th year. If you can contribute to the fund raising of this event - thank you and the details of how are outlined below. But if you cannot since you support others in this event, or other charities, then just keep all of those who every day fight this disease in your thoughts and prayers, including the fight for less hate and more kindness between each other -- a disease that is often even greater than cancer.
In great appreciation and gratitude
