YEAR 4 - I can't believe I'm in my 4th PMC year! I wasn't even sure if I would be here for 4 years when diagnoesed with metastatic breast cancer in Novemer of 2014! Let's make it 10 years of riding as a start by all helping us raise funds so the Dana-Farber research team can continue for find solutions to stop our cancer from growing, and someday find a cure in our lifetime!
The PMC and Team WOW (my doctor Eric Winer's team) have been a catalyst for my family and friends near and far to have a way to join my journey. Even better, it has created a bond with my family that I never would have imagined. This year all of my 4 boys (Alec, Cavan, Duncan and Will) plus my husband Tom will be doing 2 days. This will be the first year we are all riding the full 2 days together.
The PMC has been a vehicle for so many others in my life to find a way to help my fight/journey with cancer, as well as all of the other cancer patients. Here are a few of the examples: my siblings and their spouses are riding or volunteering (last year 2 sisters, a brother, a sislter in-n-law), my boys girlfriends, their college buddies, my work associates, old business friends I havent' seen face to face in 30 years (only connected on social media) - they are all signing up to support our mission to raise money to find a cure. If they are not riding they are lining up to hep with fundraising. The physical challenge of the training and ride is one of the PMC challenges. The other is the fundraising - with everyone having to raise a minimum of $4,900. It means so much to me to see what these family and friends are doing to support cancer research.
You can join too by donating to our ride. Thank you for joining Team WOW with your generous donations. I am confident we will achieve my fundraising goal together this year!
