Friends,
Perseverance. Grit. Determination.
Anyone who has faced cancer, or seen close friends or family fight the disease, know that when fighting cancer these traits are put to the test daily. Equally, the amazing doctors and researchers who work tirelessly to help patients and design new therapies and interventions show these traits in their amazing efforts to advance the fight against a really challenging disease. Yet despite significant innovation and improvements in care, incredibly hard work, and patients and doctors throwing everything they have at cancer, the disease is still with us, and the fight goes on.
Cancer is deeply personal for me, as it is for many of us. I feel honored and blessed to have had such amazing support for my Pan-Mass Challenge ride over the past 12 years. Together, we have raised over $157,000 to help Dana Farber to support life saving cancer research and intervention.
In a little over two weeks, I’ll saddle back up for my 13th Pan-Mass Challenge, to ride 162 miles from Wellesley, MA to Provincetown, MA with the goal of continuing to support the fight against cancer. Last year, I set a goal of raising $10K and with your support we nearly doubled that amount. This year – I hope to raise $15K as a small contribution toward the $1 billion lifetime fundraising milestone the event will surpass this year.
I am also excited to share that this year, Mark Wallace, Eben Tourmey and I have created a new team sponsored by our respective companies - Clearhaven, Parlor Skis and Tidemark. After many successful years of riding for team Shawmut, we are thrilled to continue this great tradition of riding and raising money for cancer with our new team!
Lastly, I want to dedicate my ride to Janet Hehir, a good family friend who with amazing grace continues to fight her battle with cancer with perseverance, grit, and determination. Janet, you are an inspiration.
Thank you for your continued support. I am honored to ride in this event. To donate, please go to the following link:
