Collin Krehbiel's PMC
Collin Krehbiel's PMC
I ride . . . to find a cure!
In light of COVID constraints, this years’ PMC bike-a-thon has been reimagined. The health and safety implications of the global pandemic mean that instead of 7,000 riders gathering together, the Pan-Mass Challenge will be reimagined with each individual remaining true to the PMC mission by creating their own PMC experience. The PMC’s motto of ‘there’s a lot riding on us’ rings truer than ever this year as the need for cancer research and treatment funding has actually increased during this public health crisis. Last year, the PMC raised $63 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The goal this year is to raise $41 million. Achieving this goal will bring the PMC’s total contributions to more than three quarters of a billion dollars raised for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 1980. While 2020 has certainly been unpredictable, the PMC community has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the mission. Cancer is not taking the year off, the PMC is not taking the year off, and neither am I. Together with my family I will be charting my own course on PMC weekend (Aug 1-2) on the backroads of Metro-West, without the typical logistics support of the 4,000 PMC volunteers!
I humbly ask for your financial support this year in the fight against cancer. As an added incentive I am pledging to ride one mile for every ten dollars donated this year over the next couple of weeks.
