Why I Ride ...

My dear friends,

Why I Ride…

I ride for my sister, Debbie, who shows incredible courage every single day. In September 2023, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma—a devastating diagnosis. But she is living proof that cancer research is making a difference. And, God willing, she will be at the finish line in August, cheering us on as we celebrate her second year of life since her terminal diagnosis.

I ride for my dear friends and their loved ones who continue to fight.

I ride in honor of the heroes we have lost.

This is my first fundraising bike ride. My first 162-mile journey over two days. It is my privilege to ride for all who have experienced this horrible disease. I am inspired by every survivor and every warrior.

I've made a personal commitment to raise $20,000.00. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.

I am a proud participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge—a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Together, we ride to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer.

Since its founding in 1980, PMC riders like me have helped raise over $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment, and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the top cancer hospitals in the country. Every dollar I raise directly supports the groundbreaking work of doctors, nurses, and scientists who are dedicated to finding cures.

This ride is bigger than me. It’s for Debbie. It’s for my friends. It’s for every patient, survivor, and family who has been touched by cancer.
