Hello, I'm Colm Costello, and I'm riding in memory of my mother, Mary Costello, to support cancer research. My mom passed away from leukemia on April 26, 2021, and this ride is a heartfelt way for me to honor her memory and give back to the community.
I’m an Irish immigrant and the youngest of ten siblings. At 21, I moved to the United States, settled in Boston, married, and started a family. I own a masonry business and have been incredibly fortunate to receive overwhelming support from the kind people of the West Roxbury community and my wonderful friends.
Losing my mother suddenly during COVID was a profoundly difficult experience, especially since I couldn’t be with her in her final moments. Cycling has always been a cherished activity I shared with my brother, and this ride feels like a meaningful way to pay tribute to my mother while raising funds in her name.
I’m proud to support the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), which is dedicated to advancing cancer research. All funds raised through the PMC go directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a leading organization in the fight against cancer. Dana-Farber’s groundbreaking research and comprehensive patient care are essential in developing new treatments and improving outcomes for those battling cancer. By participating in this ride, I’m contributing to these crucial efforts and helping provide hope and support to those in need.
Thank you for your support and for joining me in this important cause. Your encouragement and contributions mean a great deal to me and to those fighting cancer.
