Ever since I moved to Boston and learned about the Pan-Mass Challenge, I’ve dreamed of participating. This year, I’m finally taking the plunge, inspired by my brother Alex, who was diagnosed with glioblastoma in October 2023. His courage and determination have motivated me to ride for him and for all my friends and family who have been touched by cancer in some way. Unfortunately my brother is losing his battle and cancer is winning. I don't think he will be around to see me cross the finish line but I know his hand will be on my back the whole way. I am motivated even more now to raise funds and awareness of this terrible brain cancer that takes so many lives so quickly and aggressively.

Alex is a cyclist and rode for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Through cycling and this team, he met his amazing wife, Laura. Growing up, I remember Alex parading around the house in his funny looking cycling gear and those loud shoes. I may have teased him about shaving his legs, and I definitely didn’t take the blame for the rust ring in the bathtub from his shaving cream can! This time, I will be in the saddle with a funny cycling outfit on.

The funds I raise through the PMC will go directly to The Center for Neuro-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
