Why I Ride ...
Our commitment to the Pan Mass Challenge started back in 2009 when my son Anthony, at age 21, was diagnosed with rare type of cancer. We were told he would need specialized treatment from a world class cancer center because of the aggressive nature of his disease. Without hesitation we decided to seek treatment at Boston's Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Once we met with Anthony’s team at Dana Farber, we knew we made the correct decision. The physicians and technicians involved in his care were worldwide experts in his specific cancer and provided him with a comprehensive plan to treat his disease. It was a difficult time, but Anthony’s determination and inner strength carried him through.
Having experienced firsthand the lifesaving work being conducted at the DFCI, in 2012 Anthony decided to give back through his participation in the Pan Mass Challenge. Since that initial ride, Anthony has inspired many friends and family to join him in this worthwhile cause, and has formed his own team, “Team Havin' A Ball”. To date we have raised over $480,000 for care and research!
I'm honored and proud to be riding again this year with Anthony and our dedicated team of riders and volunteers on August 3rd and 4th.
Thanks for your support for this great cause.
