I ride in the Pan Mass Challenge because supporting cancer research is important to me and my family. This will be my 34th year riding my bike 180 miles over 2 days during the first weekend in August. Two good friends introduced me to the ride in 1991, and I've been hooked ever since. Rarely have I been in one place where so many are dedicated to helping people, and the camraderie is amazing. Composed of cancer survivors, those that have lost loved ones, and an amazing number of volunteers is something I'm grateful I can still be a part of.

Over the years, I have lost some close friends and family to cancer. I've also seen Dana Farber save people that I didn't think had a chance. I'm grateful that at age 71 I can still participate, and have raised over $200,000. I also get to spend the weekend with many close friends I've made through the years. My daughter Amy will be joining me as well, as we ride to eradicate cancer in our lifetime.

100% of the rider raised funds go directly to Dana Farber. The PMC has raised over $1 billion since its inception in 1980.
