January 2025
I'm at it again.
2025 marks my 15th straight year riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge to support cancer research and care at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
On the first weekend in August, I'll be on my bike pedaling 186 miles over two days, my longest ride yet for this amazing cause.
Bright and early on August 2, I'll be on the road before dawn from Sturbridge (~50 miles west of Boston) and will pedal the 109 miles to Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, the gateway to Cape Cod. Then, on Sunday, I'll wake up before dawn once again, cross the Bourne Bridge onto the Cape, and ride 77 miles to Provincetown.
I hope you will consider joining me in supporting this wonderful cause by donating to my 2025 Pan-Mass Challenge ride.
Each year, the PMC is Dana-Farber's largest individual contributor, accounting for more than half of the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund's annual revenue and 100% of every dollar raised by riders will go directly to cancer research and care.
As many of you are aware, I’ve been riding in memory of my cousin Brian who lost his battle with Wilms’ tumor when he was just 8. He has been with me the whole way during my past rides and he'll be there every mile again this year. I still think about him every day and love him more than he will ever know.
I will also be riding in memory of my father-in-law, Tuck Amory, and Sarah's uncles, Bob Scott and David Amory. We love you and miss you all.
I’ll also be riding in support of friends who are in the midst of their own fights against this disease. You know who you are. Stay strong and beat this. I love you.
Finally, I’m riding in support of my mom, mother-in-law, and many friends who are all cancer survivors. In each of their cases, I am riding to thank the doctors, nurses, researchers, social workers, nutritionists and countless others - including my amazing friends and former colleagues at Dana-Farber - who took such good care of them and helped save their lives.
Thanks to you all for the amazing support and I hope you'll consider supporting me again this year.
Much love to all,
Andrew
