Why I Ride ...
Year 7!
This August 2nd and 3rd Team Joel and I will once again ride from Sturbridge to Bourne and then Bourne to Provincetown, a 187 mile trek across Massachusetts. As you know, participation requires a substandial fundraising commitment. My fundraising goal for 2025 is to reach $12,500. This is a lofty goal for sure, and one I cannot reach without your help. Last year PMC crossed the $1 billion mark for lifetime donations to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This year we embark on helping reach the next billion.
My reasons for participating in the PMC have not waivered. Despite long, hot training days, time away from family and the committment to fundraise large sums...
- I ride for team Joel, named after my friend Anna's father who passed away from cancer way too young.
- I ride to remember my godfather Jack Saball who passed away from cancer in the fall of 2020. I ride on behalf of my grandparents who I never met because of cancer.
- I ride for my friends and family who won their battles with the disease.
- I ride for everybody who know someone fighting the good fight now or whose loved one’s fights have ended.
- I ride to be a role model for my five year old son. To set the example for him that we should take on difficult challenges knowing they are difficult, and we should look to help others.
Without the PMC and Dana Farber there is no telling how far back cancer research and treatment would be, but if we keep fundraising, donating and riding, the future for us all will be more promising. If you can, please help me raise $12,500 by donating to my page. Thank you.
