Why I Ride ...
This will be my 16th PMC! Last year I surpassed $100,000 in personal fundraising, thanks to all of my donors, and this year the PMC as a whole is on track to surpass $1 billion in fundraising (no, that's not a typo). Even so, every year I feel like I have more people I am riding for. I still ride first and foremost for Amie White, my friend who died too early of ovarian cancer and yet crammed more spunk and life and friendship into her too-few years than most of us will in a lifetime. And for her mother, the amazing Tobie Shapiro, who lost both her daughter and her husband shortly thereafter to cancer. And my amazing mom, who has been in treatment for the last couple of years for multiple myeloma at Dana Farber, the very organization the PMC benefits, and continues to demonstrate as she has so many times in her life that she is one the strongest people I will ever meet. And this year I add my Uncle Tris, my dad's college roommate who passed away from cancer just a few weeks ago.
And so I keep riding. I truly appreciate any donations, large or small, that you are able to make. Thank you very much in advance, and Godspeed.
