Why I Ride ...
The PMC is back in full!! After three years, one pandemic and much isolation, it means a great deal to me, and to all of us I'm sure, to be back with this strong and dedicated community, riding for a fantastic cause.
This will be my 14th PMC. Even though the PMC has made tremendous progress in raising money to fight cancer (more than $800 million to date), every year I feel like I have more people I am riding for. I still ride first and foremost for Amie White, my friend who died too early of ovarian cancer and yet crammed more spunk and life and friendship into her too-few years than most of us will in a lifetime. And for her mother, the amazing Tobie Shapiro, who lost both her daugher and her husband shortly thereafter to cancer. And my amazing mom, who started treatment last year for multiple myeloma at Dana Farber, the very organization the PMC benefits, and continues to demonstrate as she has so many times in her life that she is one the strongest people I will ever meet.
And so I keep riding. I truly appreciate any donations, large or small, that you are able to make. Thank you very much in advance, and godspeed.
