Why I Ride ...
My ride is decicated to my mother, Karen Postal, whose life was cut short by ovarian cancer. When she was first diagnosed, the doctors predicted almost no chance of survival, seven years later she was dropping my sister off at school and preparing her third book for publishing. Even two weeks before she passed away in the spring of 2023, she was still a practicing neuropsychologist at the very top of her field. Her journey is a testimony to the enduring strength of the human spirit and advancements in modern medicine. Research and development of treatments such as immunotherapy extended her life and gave her more time to spend with those she loved and more time doing what she loved. These advancements make recoveries that doctors couldn't have conceived in the past, everyday occurrences. The dollars I raise for this ride will give cancer patients more time to spend with their loved ones. For those afflicted with cancer, Money = Time.
I ride for those who can't; for those who have fought, and for those who continue to fight. I ride to give others the same gift of time that I was given by the research funded by events like the PMC.
My ride is a pledge to make a difference, to honor my mom's beautiful life, and to kindle hope in the hearts of many.
