Alan McAvoy's PMC
Alan McAvoy's PMC
Join me in the fight against cancer!
On the first weekend of August, I will be remotely joining my brother Kevin and over 6,000 other cyclists in the 192 mile Pan-Mass Challenge. Though the ride itself is reimagined this year due to COVID-19, the fight against cancer remains the same. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country. Over $717 million has been raised since the inception of the PMC in 1980, with a record setting $63 million last year alone! This success would not have been possible without the generosity of people like you - people who care about a cure.
My niece Avery was diagnosed with stage 4, high risk neuroblastoma when she was 11 months old. Through this long and ongoing process, Avery has shown herself again and again to be the strongest, most resilient person I know. As a parent myself, I can’t imagine the strength it has taken for my brother and his family to take this on but it was not without help. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been there for them and because of their work, Avery is in remission and is now a busy and beautiful 7 year old.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
Please join me in support of this remarkable organization and in the fight to end cancer.
