Growing up in Boston, I have always appreciated Dana Farber for the incredible cancer care it provides to people in my life when they have needed it. I gained a true understanding of the compassion and effectiveness of the organization when my grandfather, Michael Levy, was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia at age 93. I sat with him through appointments and met his care team who supported our family so much in the final months of his life. This experience inspired me to pursue my master’s in public health at Harvard and gain the opportunity to work at Dana Farber this summer.

This coincides perfectly with my first year riding the PMC, after seeing my parents, Joshua Levy and Rachel Rock ride for the past 14 years. My brother, Isaac Levy, is riding for the first time this year as well. The PMC is a bike race that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. I will also be riding in support of Samantha Janower who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 3, but now a healthy and thriving adult.
