Well, It’s that time of year again…I’ll be getting on my bike to ride my 12th PMC this coming weekend. I won’t promise this but I’m thinking this may be my last… At least for a while. I'll be riding the one day leg from Bourne to Provincetown and will join over 5,000 cyclists in an annual bike- a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about a cure. Because every dollar matters, One hundred percent of your donation goes to DFCI.
This year I ride in honor and in memory of many family, friends and clients that are currently in treatment, recently completed treatment, or unfortunately lost their battle with this disease. There is one story that gives me tremendous hope that I’d like to share. A friend and client was diagnosed with a form of liver cancer about a year and a half ago. His prognosis was not good and he was in a very tough spot. He found his way to the best doctors at DFCI and they all began working on a treatment plan. Without getting into detail, he went through very aggressive and cutting edge treatment though DFCI and is currently in remission and doing very well. It really is quite amazing and wouldn’t have been possible without his incredible will, and the cutting edge research and trials being performed at Dana-Farber. This also wouldn’t be possible without all of your generous donations. They really do make a difference as they fund the research that leads to a cure.
As usual, I’ll be riding with Team MFS and this years Pedal Partner is a 6 year old girl named Tianna who want’s to be a Doctor when she grows up. She was diagnosed in 2020 with B-cell ALL Leukemia. Her case has been challenging, so we ride in hope that the money we raise can make a difference for her, and for all of the other kids dealing with this awful disease.
Thank you all for your continued generous support. I'm well aware that you're all donating to multiple causes, and many to other riders of the PMC, so your support is much appreciated. To make a donation, please click the link below to get to my page.
