THE PAN MASS CHALLENGE: PLEASE SUPPORT ME IN MY GOAL TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE DANA-FARBER CANCER INSTITUTE
PMC 2021: Re-Imagined Ride Number 10!
2022 has been challenging and changing so much every day. What doesn’t change is the need for empathy for those fighting with cancer in these crazy pandemic times. I am riding for the 10th year with Team Lungstrong to be part of the solution to find a cure. I will be riding in a smaller group to raise funds for cancer research. I want to thank all of my supporters over the years and I ask for your support for this ride if you have the means to donate. Together we can continue to support the great work being done at Dana Farber and the courage of those who live and fight with cancer each and every day. Stay safe, be well and please pray for those who we ride for and those who ride. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Much Love , Anne
We have living proof of the success of these clinical trials in our teammate, Diane Legg, who has courageously fought lung cancer for the last 15 years. Diane is an amazing person and a passionate advocate for lung cancer patients. Diane founded LUNGSTRONG, a nonprofit organization that funds innovative lung cancer research. Over the last 10 years she has raised more than $3 million through LUNGSTRONG, to help in the ongoing fight against lung cancer. We're happy to report she is currently participating in a clinical trial that is showing very promising results, and we all appreciate the very smart medical professionals at both Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Mass General Hospital who are putting our funds to good use.
I could not be more grateful for all of the support my family and friends have given me over the years for this cause that is so near and dear to my heart and I hope you will consider supporting me again this year. 100% of donations to my ride will go towards funding lung cancer research for the Thoracic Oncology program at Dana Farber.
This year my fundraising goal is $2,000... please continue to support me in any amount that is doable for you. Remember every donation makes a difference!

Thank you in advance for whatever contribution you can make! When you donate please enter who in honor or in memory you would like me to ride for. I will wear a ribbon with the name of each person. As I have done in the past, I will ride with my parents’ names on a ribbon as I am taking their spirits along for the ride and would be honored to take your loved ones with me as well.
Why I RIDE in the PMC.....
I ride in memory of my mom, Joan Costello, who spent her lifetime always putting everyone else first! Whether it was my Dad, my brother and sisters, her children’s friends, her nursing patients, or a stranger on the street, she always gave of herself expecting nothing in return. She survived a lung cancer diagnosis for 15 years and then left us too early after a courageous fight. I ride in memory of my grandfather George Saucier, Joan’s dad, who also died from lung cancer and her sister Doris, who has battled breast cancer.
I ride in memory of my dad, Tom Costello, his dad and my grandfather, Myles, his mother and my grandmother Natalie, and his brother, Uncle Jake who recently lost his battle with cancer. I ride in memory of my Aunt Ida whom I lost last year and her daughter Kathleen who has battled breast cancer.
I ride in memory of my brother-in-law Thomas, father-in-law Henry Enaire and in support of my sister-in-laws Lisa & Diane who are cancer survivors.
I ride in memory of my friends Karen, Kathy and Laurie’s Moms who all lost their battle to cancer last year and many other friends who have lost their fight and in support of those fighting every day.
I ride in support and in memory of my colleagues Eileen, Elizabeth, Emily, Pam, Karen, and Kim and one of my student's brothers, Cam, whose young life was taken at only age 19, as well as Kristine Schmidt and Meg Muldowney Tierney,
who is fighting the battle of her life while still protecting the community she serves.
I ride in support of the doctors, nurses and researchers who work tirelessly every day to treat and provide hope to patients and their families.
I ride in memory of Maureen Costello, Jody LeSage , Mary (Sister) Johnston and Bonnie Hileman Giampa who fought with strength and courage. I ride with hope for little Isabella and Paul St. Pierre and many who have no one to pray for them.
I ride alongside my friend, Diane Legg, founder of Team LUNGSTRONG, who has shown me what strength and faith is. Diane is a 15- year stage 4 lung cancer SURVIVOR who continues to pour her heart, body and soul into finding a cure for lung cancer. I ride as a TRIBUTE to her!
As you can see, cancer touches our lives in many ways and through many people …If you could see the faces of all those on the PMC route you would understand why my sweat was nothing compared to my tears! Together we can, and are, making a difference in the lives of others. Pleas help me to reach my fundraising goal. NO amount is too small to give. I truly appreciate it. God Bless and thanks for your support. Anne
