Why I Ride ...
Dear Family & Friends -
This year I am celebrating 13 years of remission from my battle with Breast Cancer. The type of breast cancer I had is called Triple Negative and is the only form of breast cancer that does not yet have a subsequent/ongoing treatment to keep people alive. TNBC has the lowest survival rate of all breast cancers in the first five years. In addition to having stage 3, grade 3 TNBC, I also have a genetic mutation called BRCA2, which increases my risk for ovarian and pancreatic cancers. I am still monitored annually at Dana Farber by 2 oncologists and the genetic team. There is not a day that goes by that I am not eternally grateful for the care I recieved at the Dana Farber.
It is my goal each and every year to raise the funds it will take for people to become survivors rather than statistics. I am 100% sure that this is why I was given a second chance at life. Thank you for your continued support and for helping me these past twelve years. As a living proof rider, I want nothing more than to help others to have that chance too.
With love,
Suzanne Merritt Wife of Matt (32 years)
