I am grateful to Elliot Silver for his inspirational committment to this cause, and for persuading me to come along on the journey we have shared through seven editions of the Pan Mass Challenge.
The Pan Mass Challenge is the world's oldest and largest charity fundraising event, and supports the cancer research and treatment programs of the Dana Farber Cancer Center and its famous Jimmy Fund which provides lifesaving intervention for children with cancer.

It's a lot more than just a bike ride.
Every year, along the route, families who have been touched by cancer, some of whom travel to the roadside just for this event, set up picnics and cheer to the last of the literally thousands of riders in this crazy event, to thank YOU for the impact the Pan Mass Challenge has had in their lives. You can spot a few in this video I made of my first Pan Mass ride in 2017. I'm hoping I can share more of that enthusiasm with you this year.
Also, there's chowder... immense quantities of chowder...

You might think your contribution can't do much, but 100% of every rider-raised dollar funds research and treatment programs - some of which would not exist but for your generosity. Collectively, we raised an amazing $75 MILLION dollars last year, and over ONE BILLION since the inception of the Pan Mass Challenge.
The chowder, incidentally, is on us. Expenses of the event itself are paid by our entry fees and services are provided by an army of volunteers.
I am looking forward to updating you on our training and fundraising progress as we rejoin the many other Pan Mass riders in this spectacular event in August. To learn more about this amazing event and where your donations go, click on the link at the upper left corner of this page.
Next year, I'll be taking on some new challenges, and I'll keep you updated on that through the usual channels.
If you have been a regular team member with us, thank you for your continued support. If you've thought about it before, but you are like me and have a hard time getting around to the things you want to do sometimes, I would love to have you along for one last trip down this road.
